Laropiprant+nicotinic Acid
About Laropiprant+nicotinic Acid
Laropiprant+nicotinic Acid is used to treat dyslipidaemia, particularly in patients with combined mixed dyslipidaemia (characterised by elevated levels of LDL-cholesterol and triglycerides and low HDL-cholesterol) and primary hypercholesterolaemia (heterozygous familial and non-familial). Dyslipidemia is a condition characterized by an imbalance in lipid levels.
Laropiprant+nicotinic Acid contains Nicotinic Acid and Laropiprant. Nicotinic acid lowers LDL/bad cholesterol and triglycerides while increasing HDL/good cholesterol. Laropiprant helps reduce flushing, a common side effect of Nicotinic Acid. Together, Laropiprant+nicotinic Acid helps treat dyslipidemia and hypercholesterolaemia.
In some cases, you may experience some side effects like diarrhoea, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, upset stomach or heartburn, headache, and flushing. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects consistently.
Do not take Laropiprant+nicotinic Acid if you are allergic to any of its components. Consult your doctor before using Laropiprant+nicotinic Acid if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Let the doctor know if you are taking any other medications and have any medical conditions, including peptic ulcer disease, arterial bleeding, unstable angina, diabetes, gout, liver or kidney problems and other pre-existing medical conditions to avoid potential interactions.
